Being “under the gaze" means to be looked at. Through the act of being seen, the subject becomes its final form, an object of aesthetics. Movement or stasis no longer matter, the subject is a vessel - caught between display and disappearance, freedom and restriction, it exists in a strange space where power belongs to the observer. The subject is sublimated into frame, form, fiction, into choices made by an external force
